Hunter Valley
Hunter Valley is the oldest and renowned wine region in Australia. When you access the Hunter's area, the picturesque scenery of vineyard will be in your sight. Almost 80 wineries ranging from big companies, families of several generations to small boutique winemakers are scattered in the wide area. The Hunter region with high reputation within Australia and overseas offers visitors the best and rarest wine of Australia. There are exotic selection of wine tasting services in the wineries.
Apart from the wineries, don't miss the special savour of chillie chocolate in the Hunter Valley Chocolate Shop.
Hot air balloning is another way to explore the region. It's such a wonderful feeling to go aloft a hot air ballooning at dawn. Skydiving and parachuting is also available to offer a once-a-lifetime experience.
Wandering in the Hunter Valley Gardens containing several specific gardens should be a great fun also. The amazing floral displays and magnificent designs of the Gardens attract everyone's attention.

Port Stephens
The activities and experiences in Port Stephens are much different from the metropolitan Sydney. The area is only about 2 1/2 hours drive north of Sydney. The beautiful bays and golden beaches can easily be found along the coastal areas. Nelson Bay is well-renowed all over the world for Hump Back Whale Watching. The whales migrate north to warmer waters from late May to July, then return south to the Antarctic from September to November.
There are also around 165 bottlenose dolphins living within the port area, as Port Stephen is named the "Dolphin Capital of Australia". Hire a boat to watch or just view them from the shore being a great fun. Driving 4WDs or having 6WDs tour on Stockton sand dunes is another wonderful adventure. Being a seaside town, Port Stephens is also famous for the local fresh seafood.
