Blue Mountains

Blue Mountains, a World Heritage listed national park, is renowned for its amazing
views and landscapes such as The Three Sisters at Echo Point of Katoomba (Photo above).
The area is west of Sydney and takes only about 90 minutes drive from the city. There
is a frequent train service from the city as well.

Apart from the breath-taking views, the Blue Mountains area is also renowned for the
bush walking activities that suits everyone. |
The Katoomba Scenic Railway, the steepest incline railway in the world at 52 degrees,
and the new Scenic Skyway, takes visitors to the lush and hidden valley of the Blue
Mountains. |

Sydney Olympic Park

The Sydney Olympic Park at Homebush Bay, west of Sydney, is still a great place to
be even after the Olympics that were held here in 2000. The largest of all stadiums,
the Telstra Stadium, has a seating capacity of 110,000 and is the largest in the history
of the Olympic Games. As many as 40 events, including concerts, rugby and AFL are
held here each year.
The Sydney Superdome holds events like the MTV Music Awards and The Amazing Human
Body Exhibitions. The Sydney Showground is home to the famous Sydney Royal Easter
Show that is attended by almost 1 million visitors during Easter each year, with events
ranging from stage shows, street performances, dances, music, comedy to show of garden
products, and clothing, jewellery and fireworks displays.

Leichhardt

Leichhardt is the Little Italy of Sydney. The key area is the Norton Plaza (Italian
Forum) in Norton Street where the Italian restaurants concentrate. Nearby are the
Italian arts and culture shops, cafes and leather shops.
